DPA Microphones

DPA Microphones draws on more than six decades of world-class microphone design experience.  In the 1950s Brüel & Kjær developed the first accurate measurement microphones.
In 1992, two Brüel & Kjær employees turned the best-known and accurate measurement microphones into the clearest, truest pro-audio microphones available today. The 4006 Omnidirectional Microphone was one of the first recording mics DPA developed and is still one of the most respected recording mics in classical and jazz recording circles.
DPA miniature and sub-miniature mics are extensively used in Broadway productions and by cruise industry entertainers.  Some of the refinements for head-worn and concealed mics have found their way into the DPA mics used for live music production and recording.  Very small mics can be mounted directly to individual instruments or easily attached to conventional mic stands.
DPA has also leveraged their acoustic transducer knowledge into producing some of the world's best-sounding handheld condenser mics as used by artists such as Sting & Celine Dion and by large houses of worship.
The latest (and greatest!) news is that NASA's Land Rover is outfitted with a DPA microphone and associated electronics to pick up sounds from its on-going Mars Mission - talk about Mission Critical!
