The Peluso P-84 is a small diaphragm 48v phantom powered microphone with an exceptionally flat frequency response curve. With its transformer output and excellent cardioid pattern characteristics across the full frequency spectrum, the Peluso P84 is remarkably authentic to its long discontinued inspiration, the Neumann KM-84. Improved in low frequency responsiveness and high sound pressure level capacity the P-84 is one of our most significant achievements yet.
Stereo microphone kit comes as a complete system including: Two P84 Microphones in wood Boxes, two Omni and two Cardioid capsules with the extra capsules in a wood box, Two Shock Mounts, Two Hard Mounts, and a Stereo Mounting Bar, all packed in a handy case.

'The 84's sound great, we tried the P-28's also, which I think I used on the last couple cd's, but they seemed a little boomy on my guitar when compared to the 84's. My Dobro is has a real strong low end, so maybe the P-28 picked up on that too much. Anyway, the P-84's seemed to give a more balanced view of the guitar, a little more crispness on top without sacrificing any low end. Just a real nice balance that seemed to work great with my guitar. Thanks!'

'I also used the P-84 kit on acoustic piano during tracking for the latest Matisyahu record. In this scenario, I'd normally go for a pair of Coles 4038 ribbon mics, but it was fantastic to be able to just throw something on the piano without too much thought and immediately get positive results. Piano is a very particular instrument to present to clients. If you give them something dark and dusty, some people will immediately think it doesn't sound "pro"; with the P-84, you can give them a bright shiny piano, with enough low end to make it feel grand and "expensive." I was thrilled with the results. On acoustic guitar, you can make it sound beefy and wooden, but still with a nice clear top end as well.'
